The Age of Reason

After a couple of embittered posts about the workplace, I finally told my dad what has been bothering since--ever. Well it was this morning, I was getting ready to leave for work and he was in front of his laptop. I was there, putting stuff in my bag and he asked me an innocent question--"how's school? How's work?"

I told him school's ok, work. not so good--I want to quit.

he sighed.

"So what do you wanna do?"

"I don't really know."

and I kissed him on the cheek and said goodbye for the day.

"this too shall pass" they say
by all means i say! i don't plan to get stuck in this puddle for too long
life is too damn short.

but alas, practicality has inundated some structure to my existence,

--I need to pay my debts.

so i just gotta deal with it

LOL!

The irony.

I've been alienated then I succumbed to commodification--and now that I want out--capitalism is holding me by the neck.

I need some help.

***
I forget what hole of intertextuality I got this from, but in my mind I have this memory--i think it's from tolstoy--where all your literary heroes are rallying behind you urging you to move forward

and God damn it.

is it so banal--and stupid if i find solace in this?
heck! I love the idea.

Levin, Delarue, de Zoet to name a few

behind my back
--I feel like I can do everything.
