I understand the fascination for Pacquaio, his success warrants awe and inspiration. A poor boy from Mindanao who's a bread peddler--becoming the face of contemporary boxing, a name and face that would go down in history.
Never mind that his English kinda sucks, never mind that he exudes "nouveau riche" and never mind that he's planning to run in the 2010 elections. Let all of these slide and just Believe that he really is the "world's best pound for pound fighter".
--and if it all goes downhill after that, let him be remembered for the great fights he won, fights that no doubt, had a whole nation watching.
So Manny, I wish you well tomorrow, I can't imagine the pressure you must be feeling right now. What a burden we've made you carry on your small frame!
(No offense for not watching your previous fights before.)
Hearing those Brits cheer Hatton's name made me really want you to win. I don't see Woolf, Pegg, Amis, McEwan, Waugh, Knightley when I see the union jack behind Hatton's back... I see blood lust, I hear a battle cry!
Sorry UK, lovely london, the Queen,
I love y'all and the empire (and kinda lamented its destruction)
but no matter how shitty things go at my corner of the world,
my heart will always pump for Manila love,
Raise the roof for the Philippines!
let
the
world
love
them
Filipinos!
